From warehouse worker to aspiring graphic designer

Career Counselor Katja Oostergetel talks about one of her Outplacement Op Maat trajectories.

Compared to his peers, he had a rather unusual profile. After a few years of art school and a nice career as a restaurant cook/chef, he chose a job with regular working hours in a warehouse. He did this work satisfactorily for many years, but when the company downsized and he had to make new career choices, his creative interest surfaced again. In a customized Outplacement program, which he himself put together according to his own wishes, the profession of his choice turned out to be clear and feasible, but only after obtaining the necessary diplomas. He enrolled in an evening course to become a Desk Top Publisher and also looked for work he was already familiar with, warehouse work. Now he has nice work at a nice company and in a year's time, if he wants, he can make a new career choice.
