Leaving employer by mutual agreement

Often a merger, reorganization or a labor dispute is a reason to leave an employer. But, of course, there are plenty of employees who, by mutual agreement with the employer, have decided to leave and together set up a plan to make that happen.

Outplacement the solution

For employees who "no longer fit" into the changed organization, outplacement is the right solution. But outplacement is also a good choice for employees who think they can no longer physically handle the work in the long term. Sometimes these employees continue working in their positions until they find something else that suits them better, or they are excused from work to focus entirely on a new external job.

Outplacement is a very nice way to go from job to job without getting holes in the resume and to be able to apply for jobs again with confidence through the right guidance in the job market. Outplacement is also the way to create an action plan for the near future.

Case example

It is also the right time to mirror, with your coach, how you are now in your working life: does the position you held still suit you? Or are the struggles still workplace related? With the answers to these questions you can adjust your vision.

I coached a woman who was 'physically a bit worn out' after years of childcare. She indicated that she really wanted to do something else in terms of work, especially completely non-care related jobs due to her age. We talked about this a lot. The client also took tests to find out where her qualities and interests lie and she did internships at a number of places. Eventually the client made the choice to return to work in child care in a (higher) managerial position in a small company. The peace of mind she had gained leading up to the termination of employment and the internships made her realize that she still wanted to stay in her own field but in a different way. She experienced that her knowledge added value. Something the client mentally did not have the space to realize for a while during her employment. Sometimes a moment of rest and confrontation is needed to see everything in perspective again.

A step forward

Such an outplacement program is successful because the employee realized through tools of self-examination that the above was necessary to move forward. After all: your self-development and obstacles do not have to be synchronized with the developments and opportunities in the company where you work. Then saying goodbye is a step forward and ensures sustainable employability instead of a long-term outage.
