Unfortunately, you are leaving your employer because of a workplace conflict. In many cases, accepting this situation as soon as possible is the best thing to do. But in some cases, it may continue to gnaw at you. Conflict mediation (mediation) can help you still come to terms with your employer.

Is it really necessary for you to leave?

Sometimes it has to do with a conflict with a supervisor or colleague, with a high-stakes argument that actually needs to be settled, or with an accumulation of misunderstandings and a lack of dialogue.

In these cases, for example, in conjunction with an outplacement process- you can engage one of our mediators to determine the extent to which there is a basis for further conversation, and to determine if there is a way back that is acceptable and satisfactory to both parties.

Outline program

If a conflict situation has arisen between two employees, a mediator can mediate it. But it can also involve a conflict with an employer or manager. The mediator of Outplacement op Maat works according to the MfN guidelines and the rules of conduct that go with them. The following points are important:

  • Role of the mediator: act transparently and provide the parties with clarity about the conflict mediation, including their own role in it.
  • Autonomy and voluntariness: the OOM mediator monitors the autonomy of the parties and tests their commitment and voluntary participation in the conflict mediation.
  • Impartiality and independence: the mediator has a neutral role in the process, for him or her the content of the solution is not important, the only interest is that there is a solution.
  • Confidentiality: this means that everything exchanged orally and in writing during conflict mediation is confidential.

Duration of training

Conflict mediation is primarily about getting different interests on the table and finding a mutually acceptable solution through negotiation. It requires active participation and understanding of the other to reach a good solution. While the past cannot be erased, the future can still be shaped. Conflict mediation looks primarily to this future.

The duration of conflict mediation varies from one process to another. On average, agreements between the parties can be drawn up and a solution reached within three sessions.
