Are you struggling with stress? Since stress is basically a survival mechanism, it need not be problematic. If the stress is so severe and continuous that you cannot focus properly, it is advisable to do something about it.

Stress Coaching

When people continuously overexert themselves, it can lead to stress, and too much stress can lead to chronic stress. This affects functioning and causes all kinds of physical and psychological complaints. Therefore, it is important to identify stress in time and take preventive action.

Through stress coaching you will receive personal and customized guidance from a stress coach. First, there will be an intake interview to determine whether you are suffering from stress complaints.

 

Outline program

First 2 to 3 weeks: the intake phase The intake phase of a stress coaching program at Outplacement op Maat always consists of a number of steps:

  • Telephone explanation of the approach and completion of a questionnaire.
  • Conversation with stress coach.
  • Deployment of a biofeedback measurement
  • Preparation of a plan of action stating what goals will be worked on and how many sessions are needed to do so.

The follow-up trajectory (number of sessions in consultation) During the program you will gain insight into your situation and learn how you can improve your recovery. Based on conversations and assignments you will work on goals such as:

  • Delegate and reorganize.
  • Move and relax.
  • Set living rules and daily schedule and provide insight into causes of stress and how to deal with them.
  • Finding balance between exertion and relaxation.
  • Learning recovery behaviors and lifestyle changes.
  • Building fitness
  • Identify issues in building workload/re-integration

 

During the coaching you will be given the workbook : "Stress in Balance".

This workbook consists of a number of sections: Insight: Think about the theory what influence stress has on the body, what stress is, how to lower your stress level and recover. Assignments: working out the influence of stress, what stress symptoms a person experiences, what forms of relaxation one has, how your mind set works with negative or positive thinking. Tools: relaxation/meditation exercises, podcasts, book tips

During the sessions, parts of this workbook are highlighted and are a valuable supplement to the conversations.

Duration of training

The duration of the training is by mutual agreement. During the intake it is determined how many sessions are needed. An intake takes on average 1.5 hours and a follow-up session about 1 hour. Also during the intake we use a questionnaire, based on the outcome of this questionnaire the stress coach can determine how many sessions are needed.
